Lingling Xiang

Lingling Xiang, the ancient "Hui," is clear and long-lasting, a classic herb for scenting clothes and wearing.

Aliases: Hui, Xuncao (ancient names).

Source: A plant of the genus Lysimachia in the Primulaceae family (or Lamiaceae, per differing ancient name studies).

Origin: Named after Lingling, Hunan (present-day Yongzhou) and nearby areas; widely produced in the south.

Aroma: Clear, cool and sweet, with extremely long-lasting fragrance that does not diminish after drying.

Uses: Clothes Scenting (Clothes-Scenting Incense), wearing, and placing in a box to repel insects. It echoesthe fragrant herbs in the Chu Ci, specifically "Hui" (orchid), and is one thread in the botanical origins of incense culture(香学).
