A long-form trade-mystery serial · A thousand years of craft
A signboard that stepped out of Along the River During the Qingming Festival; a shop that has stood watch for a thousand years.
Five pieces of agarwood, scattered to the ends of the land. What happens on the day they are brought together?
A keeper of an old Beijing incense shop must find them before his rivals do —
except the half-sentence his ancestors left behind was wrong from the very start.

The Incense Picker is a work of cultural fiction from Wubaiyi Agarwood. Built on a thousand years of the agarwood trade and the passing down of one shop, it is a story about real and fake, about craft, and about people. All characters, shops and plotlines are fictional and do not correspond to any real brand, store or individual.
The Chinese original updates one section daily. This English edition currently carries the first three sections in full translation; further sections will follow. Each section is a standalone work of literature and carries no commercial links. If you are interested in agarwood and our brand, please use the "Store & Orders" link above.
