To truly get to know agarwood, the fastest route isn't reading books—it's getting hands-on. We've prepared a small, slow incense ceremony salon.
At the Wubaiyi Agarwood House in Songzhuang, we do three things together: burn a censer of incense seal (xiangzhuan), learn indirect fire incense heating, and sit around chatting about incense culture(香学). Starting with identifying oil lines and sensing the layers of fragrance, we turn the words on the page into memories in your nose. Beginners are welcome too—the shopkeeper will guide you hand in hand.
With incense, when there are too many people, you can't smell clearly or talk deeply. So we keep each session to under ten people, ensuring everyone can get hands-on and ask questions. Rather than liveliness, what we want is that "you truly learned it."
The salon recruits on an ongoing basis. For specific schedules and available spots, call 400-809-1913 or WeChat artermany to inquire and reserve. The store is located at 2nd Floor, Baozang Tianxia, No. 98 Xusong Road, Songzhuang International Art District, Tongzhou District, Beijing. You can also ask about transportation and parking at the same time.
The barrier to incense isn't money—it's whether you're willing to slow down. This salon is an excuse for you to slow down.
Tell us your specific situation clearly, and we'll give corresponding judgments and advice—sourcing, personal use, and appraisal are all accepted.
